Thanks to all of the wonderful staff here at Duke. Special thanks to our wonderful nurses Sharon, Sarah, Shannon, Tiffany and Krystle. They all have been a blessing. They have removed her chest tube and she is walking the halls. Thank you all for the continued support and well wishes. We are very fortunate for all of our Team Kendall supporters. You all have made a huge difference in her journey. Thanks , God Bless , The Baynes

Kendall, it is great news that you are taking your victory lap! I hope you are getting in a little smiling and laughter, in spite of circumstances. While I was at breakfast, I saw a woman with large (same size as yours) pink letters (PINK) across the back of her black slacks. May tonight and each day and night get easier for you to endure. I imagine the recovery is somewhat exhausting and you need plenty of rest. The attention of four nurses is very impressive–only the best for you. It appears that the whole institution and staff have gone all out to make you comfortable–I like that. We can rest a little better tonight knowing that you probably will be resting better. Prayers and blessings, Al alwessan@comcast.net
According to your dad, our prayers for blessings were answered–four nurses were sent!
Kendall, you are so amazing and strong of spirit! I am really thankful for the skilled doctors and nurses taking care of you! I am so relieved this surgery is behind you! Many prayers of gratitude are going up in Roanoke, Virginia tonight! I hope Mom, Dad, Connor, Nana ane all of your family can close their eyes and rest tonight. Love you all so much! Nancy Northern
Kendall, I just saw the WSLS 11:30 pm news. They showed your thumbs up picture. They stated that the tube was removed and that the operation was a success. They stated that you could be home as early as next week! I hope you are sleeping comfortably and you will see this in the morning. Prayers and blessings.

Kendall, we are so happy that this second surgery is behind you and that you seem to be recovering well. The team there sounds wonderful and that makes such a difference. I hope you can get some rest and be able to come home soon. We are thinking of you and sending prayers every day.

Kendall, you probably have been up for over three hours doing your walking and recovery routine. I hope you had a good night’s rest to prepare you for the activities. Of course, this is nothing new to you, since you are accustomed to early rising to go to school. (A little military history for reading entertainment) During World War II, a Private in the Army received $21. a month for his pay.! In the1945 movie, “This is the Army” there is a song, “They Get You Up at Five O’Clock in the Morning for $21. a Day Once a Month.’ Hospitals can relate to the time but not the pay. I am sure people from all over are jubilant about the successes of your operations and recovery! It is amazing how people have rallied around you, some you do not even know. It proves that people are sensitive and caring to others’ needs. You have accumulated a lot of friends and acquaintances. Best wishes and prayers as you continue your recovery plan. Since you are practically skipping down the hallways (don’t overdo it), I can wish you a great day! Overjoyed with your progress! Prayers and blessings.
So glad (but not surprised) to hear that you are up and around! Can’t wait to see your smiling face at the basketball games again!
Great to hear you are up and around, you are a strong girl and are lucky to have such wonderful people supporting you. Keep your beautiful smile, we’ll continue to pray for you and your family. Love, Pamela
