Kendall Bayne Foundation Video

This video was compiled by the Kendall Bayne Foundation and recently posted to Facebook. We wanted to post it here as well, so that it will go out to our subscribers. Live a Kendall life, and don’t forget to come out for Kendall’s Kilometers.

Kendall Bayne Foundation

Team Kendall, we wanted to share this site KendallBayneFoundation that Maverick Helmer has started in honor of Kendall. We are so thankful for all of his hard work and efforts that have gone into keeping her legacy of encouraging others to Live A Kendall Life – one that has kindness and compassion for others, grace and courage and having a positive attitude in spite of adversity with a smile on your face. As you will see on this site, there will be a walk/run on Saturday, May 7th. If you cannot attend this event, you can give a tax deductible gift in her honor. Any funds generated will go directly to 3 great causes:

  • The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on developing earlier diagnostics and smarter treatments for cancer, neurological disorders, diabetes and other complex diseases.
  • First Descents offers young adult cancer fighters and survivors a free outdoor adventure experience designed to empower them to climb, paddle and surf beyond their diagnosis, defy their cancer, reclaim their lives and connect with others doing the same.
  • In addition to supporting the above organizations, the Kendall Bayne Foundation will also establish a scholarship bearing Kendall’s name.

God Bless Team Kendall, We miss her dearly.

The Chosen One

Kendall

If before you were born, we could have gone to Heaven to see all the beautiful souls

We still would have chosen you

If God had told us this soul will one day need extra care

We still would have chosen you

If he would have told us that one day this soul will make our hearts bleed

We still would have chosen you

If he had told us this soul will make you question the depth of your faith

We still would have chosen you

If God had told us this soul will make tears flow from your eyes that could fill a river

We still would have chosen you

If he had told us our time spent together here on earth will be short

We still would have chosen you

Of course even though we would have chosen you

We know it was God who chose us for you

Thank you God for allowing Andrea and Jere to be Kendall’s parents

Long overdue update

Kenny & Kaylee

Kenny & Kaylee

Team Kendall, so sorry for waiting to post, its been a busy fall. Kendall finished her first semester of college and continues to receive treatment here in Roanoke.  She started another new therapy this month and so far has been tolerating this drug without any issues.

This past week Kendall began experiencing chest pain and it was determined that she has pneumonia. She is currently being treated for this at Lewis Gale and hopes to come home soon. Christmas was a blur so we are waiting for Kendall to feel better and are going to have a 2nd Christmas as soon as she gets home.

We want to thank all of those who continue to pray for her well being over the last 46 months of her diagnosis. She has had many ups and downs but her support from you all has never wavered and we are so thankful.

All of our extended medical team has been great and special thanks to Dr Fintel and Blue Ridge Cancer Care’s awesome team of nurses.

May you all have a Healthy New Year.

Thanks again,

The Baynes

We hope all of Team Kendall are having a great summer. Kendall just started a week of radiation (cyberknife), and following this procedure will begin another course of targeted therapy. She has been enjoying the summer and continues to stay strong through all of the challenges. Thank you all for the continued support and a special thanks to Dr. Fintel and Dr. Buck.  Hang in there Kenny, we are so proud of you.

We Love you.  Mom, Dad and Connor.

Congratulations – Class of 2014!

This week Kendall will walk with her friends and receive her diploma for the class of 2014. We would like to thank all of her teachers and administration from Cave Spring High School who helped make this possible over the last three and a half years. Special thanks to Kendall’s guidance counselor Mrs. Penny Williams. Kendall is doing well and after a beach vacation, she will meet with her doctor and decide on her next treatment options. Thanks again for everyones continued prayers and support. Have a great summer.
