A good day of rest

Late this morning Kendall had her chest tube removed. This has helped to make her more comfortable. She has been able to catch up on some much needed rest. She continues to walk and is coughing to help her lungs recover. We made sure she had plenty of candy and helped her celebrate Halloween.  Kendall didn’t dress up but then again she wears her costume everyday…. “a hero.” We hope to be home soon. Thanks to everyone for supporting Team Kendall. The Baynes

Smiling and getting stronger

They have removed her epidural this morning. Because she still has some drainage from the surgery, they have decided to keep the chest tube in for another day and hopefully remove it tomorrow. She continues to improve and is walking the halls to get stronger and now eating a regular diet. She continues to amaze us by her will and determination. Kendall you make us all so proud. You are the strongest person I know. Keep fighting. Her smile keeps us all going forward. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Up and walking

Kendall is walking the halls and moving around and sitting up today. She is doing good and hopefully tomorrow they will remove the chest tube. She is tuff and fighting so hard to get better. Thanks so much for all the nurses taking care of her in surgical & ICU. Special thanks to Krystle, Emily and Shannon in stepdown for making her comfortable and helping her recover. Thanks to everyone for wishing her well. It helps us all stay focused and determined. We appreciate it. The Bayne’s

Out of surgery and resting

Kendall is now resting in the stepdown unit. The Dr was able to remove all of the nodules in her left lung. Fortunately there was no other disease detected during her surgery. She is in some pain but for what she has been through is doing great. She currently has a chest tube in place and we hope to have it removed within a day or two. I told her everyone is asking about her and she said to tell everyone thanks. We will be at Duke for a few days and then return home for her to recover. We are very thankful for Dr D’Amico and his team for helping Kendall remove this disease. Thanks to everyone who keeps praying for Kendall. This is round 1 on her way to being cancer free. Thanks and Go Team Kendall!

God Bless, JB

Surgery update at Duke

Hello Team Kendall supporters. Today we had our follow up scan and are scheduled for her surgery tomorrow at 11:30 am. Fortunately, no new disease was discovered and she will have a wedge resection to remove the nodules in her left lung. This procedure will be approximately 2 hours and she will recover in ICU. Dr Thomas D’Amico is our surgeon and we know without a doubt that she is in excellent hands. He and his staff are confident that Kendall will be fine through this procedure. Today Dr D’Amico and his staff surprised Kendall by wearing her purple shirts. Thanks again for all your support and prayers. God Bless you all. The Bayne’s

Thanks Knights!

Thanks Cave Spring for keeping a smile on Kendall’s face  She was so surprised and touched by todays ballon launch. Every single one of you have helped to keep her spirits high and her mind determined to beat this disease. It’s because of you that she smiles, she laughs and she is full of life and ready for this surgery. We appreciate every prayer, every penny, and every encouraging word you have given us over the last couple of months.  We can not imagine traveling this path without your love and support. Our family thanks you all so very much. Heartfelt appreciation and gratitude…..Jere, Andrea, Kendall and Connor Bayne

Kendall’s Karnival at CSHS

Asst. Principal Mrs. Lange, Kendall, Principal Mr. Spangler

Thank you to everyone involved at the CSHS fundraiser this past Thursday before school. We are so blessed to be a part of this community. The school had buzz cuts, face painting, hair ribbons and a pancake breakfast to raise funds and gain support for Team Kendall.

Special thanks to the ladies from the different salons for donating your time and skills to give the haircuts.  Mr. Neale and Principal Spangler were very brave to allow Kendall to buzz their hair. The spirit and enthusiasm continues to grow and we are so grateful for all the love.

Thank you all, teachers, and fellow students for helping Kendall stay strong and Fight Like A Knight! God Bless, JB
