Salem Spartans …. You are now the Pride of Cave Spring as well.

Salem students, faculty and staff, thank you so much for all of the love you have shown towards my daughter Kendall. Unfortunately we were out of town tonight but we saw the game on the news. It was incredible to see everyone in Salem supporting Kendall, we are speechless. We plan on coming to your school to thank you in person. The generosity and compassion you have shown gives us hope and determination to fight this cancer.  Thank you again from the bottom of my heart . This means so much to our family and our promise to you is Kendall will Fight Like A Knight and a Spartan. God Bless, Kendall’s Dad

Stay Strong Kendall, from HVHS

Students and staff from Hidden Valley High School formed a ribbon to show support for Kendall. Their message was loud and clear — stay strong Kendall.

Duke Appointment

I know a lot of friends and supporters have been asking about Kendall’s next step in this journey. Today we met with Dr D’Amico Thoracic Surgeon at Duke University and are now scheduled to have surgery on October 28th at Duke. We will be at Duke approximately 2-4 days and then she will be home to rest and recover for 10-14 days.  We will then determine whether we will have another surgery or begin to treat with medicine. If we proceed with another surgery, we then will begin treating with meds after she heals from this procedure. I would like to take this time to once again thank everyone for supporting Kendall. She has been able to keep her beautiful smile during this difficult time because of the love and encouragement people are showing. We are so looking forward to all of the fund raising events that are taking place in the next few weeks. I can’t wait to tell you thanks in person. Also for the people who make anonymous deposits into our Suntrust account, I want you to know we greatly appreciate it. The Karma that Team Kendall is receiving is so genuine and compassionate it makes Kendall strong enough to win this fight. Thank you and with the Grace of God, she will be OK! Much Love, Kendalls Dad

Homecoming Weekend

Our family wants everyone to know how special the crowd made us feel by giving Kendall a standing ovation. Escorting her onto the field had a lot of emotions for my family, and everyone in attendance made it extra special for us. We want the cheerleaders from Alleghany High School to know how much we appreciate your thoughtfulness and support you gave to Kendall. Your school should be very proud of every lady on that squad. You all are a class act! It was also very nice of the Cave Spring recreation cheerleaders to give Kendall a signed card with donations. You all are sweethearts. Thank you girls. And finally, I want everyone to know how my good friend Harry Cannady made Kendall and her friends Homecoming a Knight to remember. He reserved a limo to drive Kendall and her friends to dinner and the dance this evening. Harry, I’m lucky to have you as a friend. We feel so fortunate that the whole community is lifting us up and giving us help and support for Kendall to battle this cancer. Thanks to everyone from the bottom of my heart, Kendall’s Dad.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Together, Team Kendall will win!

Thank You CSHS and HVHS

Thank you so much for Hidden Valley High Schools “White the Knight” band fundraiser on Wednesday evening. You guys ROCK! Awesome job. Also want to say thanks to the Cave Spring Cheerleader fund raiser at Buffalo Wild Wings this past Wednesday evening. We heard it was standing room only and people were gracious enough to wait over an hour to order food. Awesome job ladies. We wish we could’ve been at both events, however we were at Johns Hopkins meeting with physicians helping us determine Kendall’s treatment plans. Thanks again for helping Team Kendall Fight Like a Knight. We can’t thank you enough. This community has been awesome to help us stay focused on getting Kendall healthy again. Take care, JB~Kendall’s Dad
