Duke Procedure

Good morning Team Kendall. We will be heading back to Duke to meet with a cardiothoracic radiologist. It is our hope to have an ablation performed to remove a small nodule on her left lung. This procedure will be this Thursday, and when our prayers are answered she will be home Thursday evening. Stay strong Kendall, you continue to amaze us all with your strength and determination. God Bless you sweetie. We Love You!  Mom, Dad, Connor and all of Team Kendall. Godspeed!

Never Give Up!

This week Kendall had follow up scans and her chest tube stitches removed. She has healed nicely and we are now getting ready for her next steps. The scans looked good except they can see one nodule in her left lung.  This spot, when being compared to previous scans, appears to have been there in August. So the good news is that there is no new disease since our original scans. We are considering having this spot ablated and we will let everyone know when we decide. Thanks so much for everything and as this post states, Team Kendall will never give up until she is cancer free. Stay strong Kendall, you are amazing! We Love You!

Out and About

Kendall is doing great and seems to have recovered just fine. She is wanting out of the house to go shopping and visit friends. We hope to be at the next Cave Spring game. Thank you all for the prayers and support. Also, special thanks again to the Roanoke Athletic Club and Cave Spring Basketball for all of the support and fund raising events. We are still awaiting the tumor biology results to determine our next step in Kendall’s treatment regimen. Take care and thanks again for the love.  The Baynes

Home Early

Kendall was allowed to come home today. The doctors felt her lung was sealed and it would be better for her to go home to rest and recuperate. She is managing the pain, using her spirometer for breathing exercises and resting. She will be taking it easy for a few days to regain her strength and heal her body. This was a nice blessing for her to come home in a little over two days. Her last surgery she was hospitalized over five days. Thanks for your prayers.  We really appreciate them. Stay strong Kendall.

Up and Walking

Thanks to all of the wonderful staff here at Duke. Special thanks to our wonderful nurses Sharon, Sarah, Shannon, Tiffany and Krystle. They all have been a blessing. They have removed her chest tube and she is walking the halls. Thank you all for the continued support and well wishes. We are very fortunate for all of our Team Kendall supporters. You all have made a huge difference in her journey. Thanks , God Bless , The Baynes

Recovering

Kendall is now recovering on the step down floor. They are helping her get comfortable and control the pain. We hope she is able to get some rest through the night. Tomorrow we will begin to walk and strengthen her lungs so we can prepare to remove her chest tube.  Dr. D’Amico informed us he removed all of the tumors. We feel very fortunate the he is her surgeon. Thank you all for your prayers. Take care, The Baynes

Thumbs Up!

Kendall asked me to take this picture to let everyone know that she is fine and will be ok as she goes to surgery. Thank you for all of the comments, she reads each and everyone of them. It gives us strength, hope and determination to win this fight. Go Kendall, Keep Fighting Like a Knight!

We Believe!

As we prepare ourselves for Kendall’s next surgery, we hope all of the Team Kendall supporters had a great holiday season. We believe that 2012 will be the beginning of Kendall becoming cancer free. We are scheduled for surgery this Friday, and with all of the prayers and support, we know Kendall will be okay. We believe in hope, miracles and most importantly we believe in Kendall! Thank you so much for your help.

God Bless, The Baynes

We love you Kendall. You are our hero. Stay strong.
