Hang in there Baby!

Its has been a while since we had any appointments with our physicians. On Thursday we had our scans at Duke, and they have confirmed two small nodules in Kendalls right lung. Although this is not what we had prayed for, we will meet with our team of physicians and do whats best to remove/eradicate these. There still is a chance we will start some type of medicine and monitor these spots to evaluate how well it is working. Our surgeon has informed us they are too small to remove surgically at this point. Although this is not the plan we had, we will adjust our sails, and get after it!  Hang in there Kendall, you can do it!

Love you sweetie~ Mom, Dad, Connor and All of Team Kendall!

VT Relay for Life

Just wanted to say thanks to the students at Virginia Tech. They continue to set the bar for excellence in fund raising for Relay for Life. Kendall was asked to give a speech during the opening ceremonies on Friday, April 20th. These students did an excellent job in planning a great relay for this year. They ended up raising $564,391. Wow! Unbelievable! Virginia Tech continues to rally for great causes and it was an honor for Kendall to be part of this incredible event. One step closer to finding a cure. Great job Hokies! Here is the link for Kendall’s speech. God Bless, Love Team Kendall.

Wake-N-Shake

Just wanted to let our team Kendall supporters know how things are progressing. Kendall is getting back a lot of her strength and energy and continues to stay positive. Medically speaking, nothing is new. We will continue to have scans quarterly. We have been blessed by so many people helping us and giving us support.  Abby Bagliani from Wake Forest University asked if Kendall would like to be a team leader and speaker for their annual Brian Piccolo Cancer Fund Drive, she was all in! This is their 12 hour dance consisting of students who plan, participate and raise funds for cancer research.  Kendall was one of the 6 team leaders that were asked to share their story. It’s amazing to see the energy when all of these kids get involved and help others. Please visit their website at wakenshake.com. We also met a young man battling cancer, 17 yr. old Josh Rominger who is amazing to say the least. Please add him to your prayer list as well. Hang in there Josh, you are a warrior.  Thanks again to Abby Bagliani, Karli Thode, and all of the wonderful students at WFU for an awesome event. Together, we will beat cancer! God Bless, and thanks so much for keeping Team Kendall strong and believing! Peace, JB

February 14th

A year ago today, Kendall was hospitalized with ACC. She has been amazing and has inspired us all with her courage and determination to be cancer free. She is recovering well from her last procedure. We want all of Team Kendall to know how much we appreciate your support. We are continually amazed by everyone. You have made a huge difference in Kendall’s journey. We are very blessed by all of you. Special thanks to an incredible man, a friend, and a saint on earth, Dr Bill Fintel. God Bless you all, The Bayne’s

Thanks Dr. Christensen

Today’s procedure went smoothly thanks to Dr. Jared D. Christensen. He was able to ablate the nodule in Kendall’s left lung and she was able to come home this afternoon. The scans showed her lung was functioning normally. She is doing great and happy to be back home. She will rest tomorrow and we will monitor her for any side effects for the next 48 hours. We would like to thank the nurses in Interventional Radiology and special thanks to Shiva in the PACU for her delicate care. Thanks again for all the well wishes and prayers. It is so comforting to have this support as we focus on being cancer free. God Bless Team Kendall, we really are amazed and inspired by everyone’s love! The Baynes

Thank You Ella & Emma!

Thanks to Wasena Elementary School for helping Team Kendall. We really enjoyed meeting the the 5th grade students who led the fundraiser and have joined us in beating cancer. Special thanks to Ella, Emma and Mrs. Rebok for all of your help. Team Kendall is so inspired by all of these acts of kindness. You all have made a huge difference in our journey. Enjoy your pizza party this Friday. Take care, Team Kendall.

Duke Procedure

Good morning Team Kendall. We will be heading back to Duke to meet with a cardiothoracic radiologist. It is our hope to have an ablation performed to remove a small nodule on her left lung. This procedure will be this Thursday, and when our prayers are answered she will be home Thursday evening. Stay strong Kendall, you continue to amaze us all with your strength and determination. God Bless you sweetie. We Love You!  Mom, Dad, Connor and all of Team Kendall. Godspeed!

Never Give Up!

This week Kendall had follow up scans and her chest tube stitches removed. She has healed nicely and we are now getting ready for her next steps. The scans looked good except they can see one nodule in her left lung.  This spot, when being compared to previous scans, appears to have been there in August. So the good news is that there is no new disease since our original scans. We are considering having this spot ablated and we will let everyone know when we decide. Thanks so much for everything and as this post states, Team Kendall will never give up until she is cancer free. Stay strong Kendall, you are amazing! We Love You!
